The Honorable Larry A. Delgado was first elected Mayor of the City of Santa Fe in March 1998. He is currently serving his second consecutive term as mayor of America's oldest capital city.
Mayor Delgado's commitment to his city and community spans nearly three decades. His participation in city government started in 1973 when he served on the City-County Planning Committee and in 1990 he was elected to represent District 1 on the Santa Fe City Council where he served two consecutive four-year terms.
Much of Mayor Delgado's public service has been committed to issues effecting Santa Fe youth. As Mayor of Santa Fe he established and hosts the Annual Mayor's Ball, a community event which raises money for the Santa Fe Boy's and Girl's Club. He has also served as president of the St. Michael's High School Alumni Association, the Guadalupe Elementary PTA, and has been a coach and commissioner of the Santa Fe Young American Football League.
Mayor Delgado has also been involved as a member, director and president of the Santa Fe Fiesta Council and he has helped to raise funds for Open Hands and the American Cancer Society.
Mayor Delgado's top priority for the City of Santa Fe is working to protect our city's water supply to ensure and safeguard a reliable future for the citizens of Santa Fe.
